Temporary University Hambach Call for program contributions until January 12, 2023Copyright: © REVIERa, RWE Power AG
In dialogue with Neuland Hambach, the "Temporary University" project idea was developed on site in the Revier, which will be tested in 2023 summer semester in cooperation with REVIERa.
The Temorary University is an innovative format to develop impulses for structural change around the Hambach opencast mine. People from the region, students and researchers work together as equals. The aim is to push projects, implementations and joint action for structural change and to make transformation tangible. The longterm task of shaping a region without lignite thus becomes concrete - people can effectively transform their region.
The TUH is a longterm vision. It enables learning in and for structural change and activates young people to shape the future. The participating universities and colleges have the opportunity to rethink learning and research formats at the interface to society and thus to transform themselves. The concept will first be deepened and further developed in terms of content at a workshop with various stakeholders on November 23, 2022 in Aachen in the Reiff foyer of the Faculty of Architecture.
The vision will be tested in the 2023 summer semester from June 17 - 25. In the merger of Neuland Hambach and REVIERa, the TUH will be organzied for nine days in the "Place of Future" Morschenich-Alt with a wide range of offers, a platform for transformation. There will be exhibitions, lectures as well as learning, experimenting and hands-on formats by wide variety of actors and researchers. This creates a regional and national place of encounter and exchange - a learning and design place for the next generation - to strengthen an exemplary ans exemplary structural change.
Reserve these 9 special days next year and help shape our program!
